What is A Personal Brand?
A personal brand is the idea of connecting with your ideal clients beyond the usual website, Facebook page or ads. It’s all about using your story, your values and your personality to attract your ideal client. People buy from people, and your clients (current and future) want to know, like and trust you. That’s where your personal brand comes in. Only 33% of buyers trust messages from a company, whereas 90% trust messages from someone they know. How do you get to be that someone?? Use a personal brand!
Stay with me – this is NOT just more business-y salesy crap. I promise.
Now we’re not talking about creating some kind of caricature of yourself, we’re talking about openness, honesty and sharing some of your life with your ideal clients. They want to know who you are, what your life is like and what you do. Take M.E. for example – his case study is here. The clients he was losing wanted cuddles and to be told that they could eat rubbish all weekend and still get the results they wanted. Thanks to our shoot, he has material which clearly show that this is not the case!
On average it takes a potential client 7 interactions before they really pay attention to your offer. Visibility is key. And as much as I hate to say it, authenticity is the key too. It’s an over-used word in business, but it’s so powerful to cut through the corporate BS and actually show people who you are. Think behind-the-scenes photos, candid shots and images that capture the relationships you have with your customers.
Now, I’m saying all this but you’ll probably notice a distinct lack of that on my website at the moment 😕 . I’m not a hypocrite, I’m just erm, in between photographers right now! Haha! That said, if you are a fellow tog and you fancy a Personal Brand Trade session, get in touch and we’ll swap pics.
